Woodstock Music and Art fair
Background
The Woodstock Music and Art Fair began on August 15 1969 and ended on august 18. The festival took place on Max Yasgur's Dairy farm in Bethel New York. This was initially supposed to be a paid concert but when 500,000 people showed up the fences were torn down and it became a free concert. Never before had this many people gathered for a single event. All these people came to see some of the biggest names in music a the time, such as Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Janis Joplin, Santana, Joe Cocker, and the Greatful Dead.
