Woodstock's Impact
The size of the concert alone left a huge mark on music. Never before had that many people come out to see one concert and it would never happen at that magnitude again. Also Woodstock has become synonymous with the youth movement of the 60's. The people of the youth movement used the concert to express their ideas. They wanted peace and equality and this was displayed through many of the concert posters that said Peace, Love and Music. Woodstock also brought different genres of music to the attention of many concert attendees, which helped to spread these genres across the nation. The peaceful nature of the concert was extremely important for the genre of music, as it left spectators and society with a positive view of what Rock and Roll could become in the near future. The feel good, happy aura of the festival resonated across the nation, and for a good amount of time many people accepted and embraced the lifestyle of the "hippies" and baby boomers. The entire festival and concert of Woodstock was a monumental time in music history, and was a shining example of the good that comes with Rock and Roll.
